How to Choose PC Components for SpiderMan Remastered?
For choosing the components, the best way is to keep above the Minimum recommended specs by the developers. SpiderMan Remastered is AAA modern graphically-intensive title that requires a fast multicore CPU and a GPU with a decent amount of memory and cores to render the millions of pixels in a short amount of time.
Our target is to maintain 60 fps on an average at the minimum with High to Ultra settings to make the gameplay buttery smooth and to keep the stutters minimum or negligible. The PC configuration should not allow the gameplay to have significant fps drops frequently and to achieve this, we are going to look at what the developers recommend and from there, we will choose equivalent or better components from the latest generations.
The game needs at least a 4-core CPU from at Intel’s 4th gen or higher as recommended by the developers. Therefore, our choice should be going with either a 4 or 6-core CPU with fantastic single/multi-core performance. It’s always better to choose a processor from one of the latest series from either Intel or AMD.
While the motherboard doesn’t impact the gaming performance directly, it should have adequate DIMM, PCI-E, USB, and SATA ports for your components which can be used even in the future when extra components are to be installed. We still recommend minimizing the expense on the motherboard especially if you are going to use a locked processor.
As obvious from the developer’s recommendations, 8GB is going to be the minimum RAM we need to have and 16GB is a perfect size. Not only does Spiderman require it but almost every modern title has a similar memory requirement for bottleneck-free performance.
SpiderMan Remastered is a demanding title that needs a decent mid-end graphics card to run smoothly. As clear from the specs recommendation, we cannot go with any cheaper option or you will have choppy gameplay. A decent mid-end GPU with at least 4GB of VRAM is the minimum you should look for.
SpiderMan requires 75GB of free space on your storage drive. To avoid full occupation of your storage drive, we need at least 500GB of space where you can have space left for your OS, games, and important files. We will be opting for an SSD instead of the hard drive as the latter is way too slow and need more space inside your case.
Considering all the hardware we are going with, a 500W PSU is the minimum you should look for. The PSU should also be reliable, have 80 Plus power efficiency, tight voltage regulation, and should possess all the important connectors to power your components.
The choice of our case is based on the parts we are going to use. Most of the time the form factor of the motherboard decides the form factor of the case but to ensure proper upgradability in the future, you should settle with nothing less than a mid-tower. The case should have proper airflow, decent components compatibility, and a good cable management system.
Parts List for SpiderMan Remastered Gaming PC
In order to make our build flexible for different budgets, we are recommending parts in both the Minimum and Recommended categories. With the Minimum PC hardware, you will be able to play SpiderMan Remastered with medium to high settings at 1080p. With our Recommended PC hardware, you will be able to max out the graphical settings without going below 60 fps at 1080p resolution.
For the minimum budget PC, we are going with the Core i3 12100F CPU that features 4-cores and 8 threads clocked at 3.3/4.GHz. This i3 is the fastest we ever had and beats even the previous gen i5’s in gaming. This makes it an outstanding choice for $110 and will be perfect for any modern title and any budget to mid-end GPU.
However, if you are looking for something that is more future-proof and will last you a bit longer, consider the Core i5 12400F which is the bigger sibling of the i3 12100F. It gives you 2 more cores and 4 more threads for a better gaming experience, higher productivity, and faster multitasking. Core i5 12400F is clocked at 2.5/4.4GHz and comes with 18MB of L3 cache. Currently, it is one of the most powerful gaming CPUs under $180.
To surpass the performance of GTX 950 or the AMD RX 470 by a significant margin, we recommend the Radeon RX 6500 XT which costs less than $200 is currently the fastest for this price. Although it is limited by its PCI-E lanes support, it is still good enough for medium to high settings with around 60 fps. It comes with 4GB of VRAM and features insane clock speeds of up to 2815MHz on the reference design.
For our recommended PC, the Geforce RTX 3070 will completely max out all the graphics settings at both 1080p and 1440p resolutions. This is the ultimate choice for SpiderMan and all the other modern intensive titles. The RTX 3070 can provide you with consistent 60+ fps at 1440p and 90+ fps at 1080p resolution on the highest settings and is even capable of Ray Tracing in supported games without dropping the fps significantly.
It comes with 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 256-bit memory bus and a whopping 5888 Cuda Cores for faster rendering and processing. Make sure that you don’t use the processor from our minimum budget PC with the RTX 3070 as you will be bottlenecking the GPU. We strongly recommend going with an i5 12400F or any other latest 6-core processor for flawless gaming performance.
8GB RAM is totally ok and for the minimum budget build, we recommend getting Patriot’s Viper Steel single 8GB RAM module that is clocked at 3200MHz. It also has tight timings for lower latency resulting in a little better performance. As developers suggest 8GB as the minimum and 16GB as recommended, you can add one more RAM stick in the future or you can get the TeamGroup T-Force Vulcan Z RAM kit that is similar in both looks and performance.
16GB RAM gives you enough room for multitasking, opening multiple Chrome tabs, and gaming on higher resolutions. With 16GB RAM, you will be good to go a couple of years without upgrading.
To avoid a significant increase in cost, the Intel Core i3 12100F will be perfect on the H610 chipset motherboard. Although this is the most entry-level board with the LGA 1700 socket, it is sufficient for connecting all the components. The MSI Pro H610M-G particularly is a fantastic budget motherboard with steel armor PCI-E x16 slot, 2x DIMMs for RAM, 1x PCI-E x1 for Wifi card, and EZ Debug LEDs for troubleshooting.
However, the PCI-E lanes are limited and you won’t be able to upgrade your system with a lot of expansion cards or NVME SSDs in the future due to bandwidth limitations. If you can spend more, then Asus Prime B660-Plus D4 brings you more PCI-Lanes and more PCI-E slots for expansion cards. It also comes with an M.2 connector for Wifi and 2x M.2 connectors for NVME SSDs. To further upgrade the build from 16GB to 32GB or more, you can use the leftover 2x DIMM slots in the future.
SpiderMan Remastered needs at least 75GB of disk space and unless you are going to install just one game, there is nothing wrong in getting a 250GB SSD. But we know that is not the case. Apart from installing big games, you also need decent space for the Windows, Software, and other media files. Therefore, for the minimum budget PC, getting a 512GB of SSD will be perfectly fine for now.
The TeamGroup MP33 512GB is cheaper than most M.2 SSDs and offers a decent sequential Read/Write speed of 1700/1400MB/s. If you think it is still insufficient, the WD SN570 1TB SSD will give you double storage space for multiple big games like Spiderman. Moreover, it is twice as fast as the MP33 SSD with sequential Read Speed maxing at 3500MB/s.
Considering the parts we are using for the minimum budget PC, it’s safer to use a 500W of reliable power supply. EVGA is one of the top manufacturers of quality PSUs and provides options for all budgets. To power the system, we are using EVGA 500 W1 PSU which offers an 80 Plus White power efficiency rating and flat cables for easy cable management. It is non-modular and comes with all the required cables and connectors including 2x 8pin PCI-E cables for powering budget to higher-end GPUs.
If you need more wattage for easy upgradability, get the SuperNovA 650 Ga which is an excellent fully modular PSU with 80 Plus Gold efficiency that reaches above 90% efficiency on typical loads. You also get an ECO mode functionality for completely silent operation and a 10-year warranty. In performance, it is among the top PSUs for its tight voltage regulation, low-noise operation, and protection features against faulty current and voltages.
For the enclosure, we recommend a mid-tower that is spacious from the inside and looks decent from the inside. Zalman S5 mid-tower is a good budget chassis with RGB LED strip installed on the front panel and a pre-installed RGB fan a the rear. This case holds a big PSU shroud at the bottom for hiding the cable clutter and your PSU. Above it, is the main area for installing your components and both our configurations are perfectly compatible with this one.
In the end, the choice of the case depends on your taste. We are recommending this one as it is cheaper than most mid-towers and brings you everything you need. However, if you like a different one with the same form factor, make sure you check its ventilation, cable management system, and component clearance. Mid-tower cases from popular brands like Cooler Master, Corsair, Thermaltake, NZXT, etc. are better in material quality but expensive in price.
